Freudenberg-NOK Appoints Automotive Sales and Corteco Americas Presidents

PLYMOUTH, Mich., Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Freudenberg-NOK, a Plymouth-based sealing and custom-molded products manufacturer, announced today the appointment of Thomas Musgrave as president of Automotive Sales. Musgrave succeeds Richard Allen, an integral leader of the company's manufacturing and automotive business, who announced his retirement effective Dec. 31. Brad Norton will assume Musgrave's previous position as president of Corteco Americas, Freudenberg-NOK's aftermarket division. Corteco provides solutions through original-equipment technology and offers premium transmission and power steering kits and an extensive line of aftermarket components.

Richard Allen

Allen joined Freudenberg-NOK in 1999 as president of Chassis Components Group. He led the automotive team and served as CEO of the Manufactured Products Group through April 2006 and most recently served as senior vice president of Commercial Process and president of Automotive. Allen will work closely with Musgrave to ensure a smooth transition.

"Richard has demonstrated tremendous leadership during his tenure as president of Automotive Sales, and we're thankful for his years of dedicated service," said Dr. Mohsen Sohi, CEO of Freudenberg-NOK.

Thomas Musgrave

Musgrave joined Freudenberg-NOK in July 2004 as president of Corteco Americas. Under his leadership, Corteco has improved its financial stability, changed its strategic direction and forged long-term relationships with its largest customers to enhance future growth. Before joining Corteco, he was president and COO of Ryobi Die Casting where he was responsible for its North American die casting business. Prior to this position, he was Ryobi's vice president of marketing, sales and engineering for North America. Musgrave also spent 17 years at AlliedSignal and its successor company, Honeywell International, where he held leadership roles in sales, management, marketing, operations and business development at various locations nationwide. Musgrave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Portland State University in Oregon.

Brad Norton

As president of Corteco, Norton will strive to increase global market share and expand the product breadth for the company's TransTec brand, as well as enhance product quality and reduce costs to better serve OEs and co- manufacturing customers. Norton's career spans more than 20 years of growing businesses primarily in the commercial vehicle market. He was previously CEO of Visyx, a Sunnyvale, California-based firm specializing in engine fluid condition sensing systems. Prior to Visyx, he was vice president and general manager of Global Commercial Vehicles for BorgWarner's Turbo and Emissions Systems. His senior level experience with multinational companies like Nissan North America and Honeywell provides him with extensive experience in sales and marketing in the aftermarket industry. Norton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Akron University and an MBA from Ashland University in Ohio.
