Intermet Announces New Technologies and Displays a Range of Products at 2008 SAE World Congress


DETROIT, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Intermet Corp., will display a wide range of its aluminum, iron, magnesium and zinc cast products at the 2008 SAE World Congress at Cobo Center in Detroit. Intermet's display is located in the OEM/Supplier Park at booth number 2044.

The company will display a broad selection of products from its three divisions: Die Cast, Ferrous and Pressure Counter Pressure Casting (PCPC(TM)) including:

    -- Die Cast - The widest range of products on display are precision
       die-cast components made of aluminum, magnesium and zinc.  Rocker arm
       covers, brackets, housings and throttle bodies will be on display.

    -- Ferrous - A variety of ductile iron castings such as: sleeves,
       crankshafts, hubs, housings, control arms and knuckles show the
       versatility, "machine-ability" and breadth of applications ductile
       iron castings provide.  Castings on display range in size from sleeves
       weighing less than two pounds, to differential carriers weighing 48
       pounds.

    -- PCPC(TM) - Cast aluminum steering knuckles showcase the unique
       combination of light weight and toughness the PCPC(TM) process
       provides.

Intermet will also announce two new technologies and a unique, new manufacturing cell recently introduced at its facilities in Columbus, Ga., and Radford, Va.
