Team Arbella Sets Pace in Sunday's Walk For HungerProject Bread's 40th Annual Walk Will Establish New Records
QUINCY, Mass., May 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Nearly 200 walkers have joined the Arbella Insurance Group's team that on Sunday will participate in Project Bread's 40th annual Walk for Hunger, already raising nearly than $24,000 -- more than any other team -- for the worthy cause of combating hunger in Massachusetts. Arbella, the state's third-largest auto insurer, is fielding a walk team that is among the largest of any corporate participant. In addition, through the Arbella Insurance Group Charitable Foundation, Arbella has donated $50,000 and become the official transportation sponsor of the Walk for Hunger. "The Walk for Hunger combines great opportunities to express both corporate philanthropy and employee volunteer participation, for a great cause," said John Donohue, chairman and CEO of Arbella. Donohue will be joining the team on Sunday with other leading Arbella executives, managers, agents, employees and their families and friends. The 20-mile Walk for Hunger which begins in Boston on Sunday at 7 am, historically raises millions of dollars to combat hunger in the Bay State. Last year alone, pledges from The Walk for Hunger funded 400 emergency food programs in 126 communities across the state. During the same period, these soup kitchens and food pantries provided more than 42 million meals for hungry people in our state.
