TROY, Mich., May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) and McCann Erickson's Detroit office will announce winners of the Courageous Persuaders student television ad competition at an Oscar-style celebration banquet on Monday, May 19. This is the first year that the Detroit Auto Dealers Association is serving as the primary sponsor and administrator of the program. High school students from across the country created 30-second TV ads to discourage alcohol use among middle school students. Creators of the winning ads will receive more than $15,000 in scholarships from Courageous Persuaders, USA Today, Adcraft Club of Detroit, New York Festivals, The American Red Cross Southeast Michigan Chapter, State Farm Insurance, and the Cianciolo Fund. McCann Erickson will produce the grand prize-winning advertisement to be broadcast on Community Media Network.
