IRVINE, Calif., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Toshiba Storage Device Division (SDD), the industry pioneer in small form factor hard disk drives (HDDs), today expanded its automotive-grade HDD line to include a 60GB(1) offering, delivering a new capacity point to automotive manufacturers and aftermarket solution providers looking for high-capacity storage for sophisticated navigation, media center and connected auto solutions in the new digital car. Toshiba's sixth-generation 60GB automotive HDD (MK6050GAC) joins Toshiba's existing automotive-grade HDD series that includes both 40GB and 80GB models. All models feature the improved altitude specification of 5,500 meters, pushing the boundaries of in-dash system design to meet the operating extremes of today's driving environment.
