This campaign is an invaluable tool in national efforts to increase safety belt usage. Working together, government and industry have helped increase the daytime safety belt usage rate to an all-time high of 82 percent nationally. Today, safety belts save an estimated 15,000 lives annually, however, NHTSA estimates that an additional 5,500 more lives could be saved if everyone buckled up.
